Our students participate in a weekly Health & Physical Education program with Mr Billy Green.
Tiaro School also has an annual sports day where our school is split into two sport houses. LAWSON (red) & KENDALL (green). Students actively participate in running, ball games, relays, long jump, high jump, discus and shotput. This gives them the opportunity to compete for points and the chance to become the age champion in their division.
Once a year we also compete as a whole school against all the other smaller schools in the district. It is here that our students have a chance to participate for our school.
Tiaro seniors are involved in an annual small schools netball tournament. It is usually held in Maryborough. It is a one day tournament where students from other small schools come together for a round robin competition. It is normally held during September/October.
During term 1 and term 4 of each year we participate in whole school swimming lessons. We travel to Maryborough Aquatic Centre by bus and complete lessons with fully qualified swimming instructors. The cost for this activity is determined on additional funding we may or may not receive, but it is important that all students take part as it is a curriculum based activity and an Education Queensland requirement.
